Lesley Penwill’s love for stones, copper, and found objects has grown her passion for creating interesting jewellery, stain glass and spirit dolls. Her studio, The Gatehouse, is a location in perfect match with her spirit – busy road on one side and a river and trees on the other.

Micro Enterprise (M.E.) is a collective of London Ontario women who gather to create stunning pieces of jewellery for you.  We take apart donated jewellery and reuse the components, recombining the beads, clasps, and chains into our own beautiful creations. We can create custom pieces for you and also do jewellery repairs.  We sell our jewellery at conferences, meetings, and community events that we are invited to.  All proceeds go back to our collective; a significant portion goes to the artisans themselves.  Micro Enterprise's workshop is located at My Sisters' Place, a transitional support centre for women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Operating Micro Enterprise gives us the opportunity to learn all aspects of running a small business, a chance to create some beauty, enjoy much needed companionship and mutual support, and get respite from life's challenges.  We women have faced, or are still facing, challenges in our lives of one sort or another such as homelessness, abuse, addictions, mental health issues or underemployment to name a few.

Without You, there is no M.E.!  Invite us to your next event, come and see our jewellery at My Sisters' Place, donate your seldom worn or broken jewellery, or come to us for your custom orders or jewellery repairs.
