and Nancy:
I wanted to wish you both a very Happy Christmas!
You certainly
have given one for My Sisters' Place.
We continue
to be delighted and warmed by your amazing
donation, your passion and the generosity of all
who participated in Wine, Women and Shopping. It
means a great deal to us all and illustrates the
spirit of this season more than anything else I
can think of.
Yesterday we had our yearly Christmas dinner
–
a great event
– this
year a record for us. 126 plates were served! I
have never seen the house so crowded
–
the need is bigger than ever. I guess the tough
economic times.
In spite of
not being able to move literally
–
and the huge number
–
the house and women were as peaceful and happy as
you can be! One woman played carols on the piano,
many others sang
–
they had gone in together with their meager
pennies and bought the staff a poinsettia plant
with a card everyone had signed, thanking staff
and volunteers for everything. Some of the women
said that they would literally not be alive if
not for My Sisters' Place.
It was
deeply gratifying and made us all feel very
humble and appreciative for the opportunity to be
"sisters together."
Thank you to both of you for being sisters with
us!

Notes from Our Sisters...
Instead of a dry, heart rendering approach, Sue and
Nancy have created a fun and rich event that celebrates
women and the support they offer their sisters. Bravo!
A fantastic night! Everyone was so friendly and there
was a lot of laughter. The speakers were excellent. We
need to make time for ourselves and that is exactly
what this evening was. Thank you!
I enjoyed walking into the hall, listening to the
chatter and the beauty of the women who surrounded me.
It was electrifying.
What an amazing evening! I have never enjoyed an event
like this so much. Great food, amazing shopping and
prizes, good company and just great fun. Well done
ladies!
I enjoyed spending time with my “sister” and mother. I
felt truly liberated and honoured amongst such women.

Gaining more knowledge about My Sisters’ Place and the
difference it is making and has made in so many women’s
lives…spending quality time with my friends and
colleagues.
I enjoyed the upbeat environment and being more
familiarized with My Sisters’ Place. One step (or two)
above most fundraisers I have attended.
As a first time participant, I am moved by the energy
and warmth of this gathering of women. The vendors have
been helpful and friendly. Good job! I look forward to
attending next year.

A great opportunity to show support! There was great
shopping, lots of interesting things and a great
opportunity to meet many great women.
I enjoyed meeting all the ladies here – it gives me a
sense of pride to see such neighbourly good will
amongst everyone. A real sense of family!
